Western Spotted Skunk

It’s MUG MONDAY YALL and coming next to the stage is our stunt king the Western spotted skunk! ( Spilogale gracilis) if there’s a beat drop this diva is on their hands feet in the air and in a split before you can say “no way are they’re going to do ANOTHER cartwheel!?”
But this king isn’t just pulling stunts no no, the look is GIVING 💅 they have unique curling wavy lines covering their whole body with lines so crisp you can’t look away 😍

You can find these icons in mixed woodlands, open areas and farmlands from Washington all the way down to Mexico Eating fruits, birds, rodents, and even scorpions! They love a little spice 🥵
Unfortunately, like so many Kings we know they do NOT get the love they deserve and there is very little research done on these tiny forest carnivore but it is predicted that they are experiencing some decline compared to the more commonly seen striped skunk.

Side note, I LOVE SPOTTED SKUNKS they are my all time favorite skunk species and we need to do more research on them! They are native and love to eat pests in our farms and gardens so why the hell wouldn’t we want to protect them? 😤

Question about this species? Sound off in the comments and you’ll get a personal response from one of your hosts 😘

It’s been a Delight ❤️‍🔥
